Double cleansing has become a favorite part of my skincare routine—it’s the best way to melt away daily grime and buildup while keeping breakouts at bay.
I've tried a few oil cleansers recently, and while they all aim to do the same job, the experience and performance vary quite a bit.
This cleanser transforms into a silky, milky texture upon contact with water, and it’s gentle on the skin with no noticeable scent. However, it doesn’t remove waterproof makeup thoroughly, which slightly limits its versatility. I reach for this one when I haven't worn makeup and just want to clear away oil and pollution from the day.
This is hands-down my go-to. It’s budget-friendly, generously sized (230 mL), unscented, and has the perfect glide when applied to dry skin. It breaks down all types of makeup with ease, rinses off cleanly, and leaves no greasy residue. A couple of pumps go a long way—I’ve repurchased it more than once because of its reliable results.
This balm is another solid pick for removing makeup, but it does come with minor drawbacks. It can leave behind a slight film and you need to use more product to fully remove makeup. That said, its price point makes it a worthy choice if you're okay with those trade-offs.
While it performs decently, the scent and post-wash film are turn-offs for me. The texture is effective in cleansing, and a little goes a long way, but the overall experience doesn’t meet my expectations. It’s not terrible, just not one I’d reach for again often.
In the end, while all of these oil cleansers get the job done, my preferences lean heavily toward the ones that not only cleanse well but also feel great during use. The right oil cleanser can make the start of your skincare routine feel like a mini!
