When the temperature rises, we often look for something cool, light, and refreshing. Today, we are making a homemade peach iced tea that is naturally sweet, fragrant, and incredibly easy to prepare.

With fresh fruit and simple ingredients, we can create a drink that not only tastes amazing but also looks beautiful in the glass.

What Kind of Drink Are We Making?

This peach iced tea is a refreshing summer drink made by combining fresh peach syrup with lightly brewed green tea. The result is a balanced flavor—sweet from the peaches, fresh from the tea, and slightly cooling with mint.

Compared to ready-made drinks, this version feels lighter and more natural. We can clearly taste the fruit, adjust the sweetness, and enjoy every sip without it feeling too heavy. It’s perfect for hot afternoons, relaxing breaks, or sharing with friends.

Ingredients (2 Servings)

Let’s prepare everything in advance so the process feels smooth and easy:

- Peaches: 2 medium (about 300g), cut into small pieces

- Sugar: 10g (about 2 teaspoons)

- Water for cooking peaches: 100ml

- Green tea bags: 2

- Hot water for tea: 200ml

- Fresh mint leaves: 6–8 leaves

- Ice cubes: 1–2 cups (about 150–200g)

Optional for decoration:

- 4–6 thin peach or nectarine slices

- 2 small mint sprigs

Step 1: Make the Peach Syrup

1. We start by placing the peach pieces into a small cooking pan. Add 10g sugar and 100ml water.

2. Turn on low heat and gently cook for about 10 minutes. During this time, the peaches will soften and release juice, slowly forming a light, fragrant syrup.

3. Stir every 2–3 minutes to make sure the mixture heats evenly. When the fruit becomes soft and the liquid slightly thickens, we know it’s ready.

Step 2: Strain and Cool the Syrup

1. Next, we pour the cooked mixture through a strainer into a clean bowl or cup. Use a spoon to gently press the fruit so we get as much liquid as possible.

2. We only keep the smooth syrup and discard the remaining pulp. Then, let the syrup cool at room temperature for about 15–20 minutes.

3. Cooling is important because it helps keep the final drink fresh and well-balanced.

Step 3: Brew the Green Tea

1. Place 2 green tea bags and 6–8 mint leaves into a cup or small pitcher.

2. Pour in 200ml hot water (around 80–85°C is ideal). Let it steep for about 2 minutes. This short time keeps the tea light and avoids bitterness.

3. After steeping, remove the tea bags and mint leaves. Let the tea cool slightly for a few minutes.

Step 4: Combine the Flavors

1. Now we bring everything together. Slowly pour the cooled peach syrup into the tea.

2. Stir gently until the color becomes a soft golden-orange and the flavors are evenly mixed.

3. At this stage, we can taste it and adjust if needed. If we want it sweeter, we can add a little more syrup.

Step 5: Add Ice and Decorate

1. Fill serving glasses with ice cubes (about 75–100g per glass).

2. Pour the peach iced tea over the ice. Then add a few peach slices and mint sprigs on top for a fresh and appealing look.

3. The drink is now ready to enjoy—cool, fragrant, and full of summer feeling.

Helpful Tips for Better Results

- If the peaches are already very sweet, we can reduce the sugar slightly.

- For a stronger tea taste, increase steeping time to 3 minutes, but not longer.

- For extra freshness, chill the tea in the refrigerator before serving.

- If we like texture, we can keep a small amount of soft peach pieces instead of removing all pulp.
